Isabelle Boccon-Gibod was born in 1968. With degrees in engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris and Columbia University (USA), she has pursued parallel careers in industry and art. Working initially with the techniques of collage and installation, she has made photography her primary medium for some twenty years. In her project-based practice, she seeks to explore and reveal the invisible, underlying structures that give form and meaning to her subjects. Her works are found in private collections and the collection of the Centre Pompidou. She lives and works in Paris.
